[ He doesn't know what to say to that. He wonders where the other one Jason got came from, if it was from another Seelie. ...Probably was. ]
Not his fault. I was, uh. I-- Scouting. There.
[ He can hear how the word sticks in his throat, and the locket's punctuation makes it clear. But he also remembers, thankfully, about the monarch's monitoring abilities. If he was talking to her in person, he thinks... He probably would've admitted his desperate attempt to find Jason for what it was. ]
[ There's much he wishes to say, but doesn't want to voice across the lockets. He doesn't think don't hurt him will go down well at all. Instead, Dick changes the subject. ]
...Have you been okay? Sorry I didn't call earlier. I thought... I didn't want to disturb you, if you were busy.
I'm fine, really, I promise. I fell asleep - enchanted - for a couple of weeks. I'm picking up the pieces of work left behind after that, so I'm keeping busy.
That's right. I'm not sure what causes it, but it does happen - and we tend to wake up quickly enough. The last time I slept like this was a spell rather than something I didn't do, so I'm a little used to it.
Depends on what part. I've set up justice there, I helped manage and build the road, as well as protect it, and recently I've heard some awful things so I've asked someone to go in and help.
That's a good question, actually. I know that he adopted a shardholder from the Seelie court into the Fortuna family, but I'm not entirely sure if she's still part of the Drabwurld.
I think I need to learn more about the families... What happened there? I flew from the Shipyard Ring to Leathann when I went south, so I didn't realize...
The Fortuna family was under attack from other families while, in the background, two sets of religious sects were fighting one another. The assassin that took the life of the Governor was a common woman, apparently, who was caught and publicly executed three days later, but a shardbearer named Javik was allowed to speak with her first. People think she might have been a pawn of the Cult of the Fox, but we're not sure, and the new leader is Antone Nihtua, a woman with some firm policies and focus on maintaining Treun. I think she wants to crush the remains of the Fortuna power base.
No! No, goodness, no. The Red Hand are a mercenary group that once worked for the Seelie cause; they also fought against the origin of the Cult, a man named Reynard. He was terrible, going around stealing and hoarding shards and other magical items to try and make his own powerbase in the Drabwurld, and he didn't much care who he hurt to do it.

[ She breathes out, shaking her head, before she replies. ]
Either way, he was an Unseelie that stole one of my compasses. I'm not letting him get away with it.

[ Is that why she didn't reply to him? ]
Like... Like Merida? Nico said it happened before to him too...

The Cult of the Fox? That's not... [ pause ] Is that anything like the Red Hand?
[ how is it that, in spite of all the research he has done, there's still so much he doesn't know? ]
