Depends on what part. I've set up justice there, I helped manage and build the road, as well as protect it, and recently I've heard some awful things so I've asked someone to go in and help.

That's a good question, actually. I know that he adopted a shardholder from the Seelie court into the Fortuna family, but I'm not entirely sure if she's still part of the Drabwurld.

The Fortuna family was under attack from other families while, in the background, two sets of religious sects were fighting one another. The assassin that took the life of the Governor was a common woman, apparently, who was caught and publicly executed three days later, but a shardbearer named Javik was allowed to speak with her first. People think she might have been a pawn of the Cult of the Fox, but we're not sure, and the new leader is Antone Nihtua, a woman with some firm policies and focus on maintaining Treun. I think she wants to crush the remains of the Fortuna power base.

The Cult of the Fox? That's not... [ pause ] Is that anything like the Red Hand?

[ how is it that, in spite of all the research he has done, there's still so much he doesn't know? ]

No! No, goodness, no. The Red Hand are a mercenary group that once worked for the Seelie cause; they also fought against the origin of the Cult, a man named Reynard. He was terrible, going around stealing and hoarding shards and other magical items to try and make his own powerbase in the Drabwurld, and he didn't much care who he hurt to do it.

Huh. That's really helpful, thanks. Actually, on that note... If you don't mind me asking, uh. What're your thoughts on the Red Hand?

Well... I know someone that's in charge of them, and I knew the previous leader before she disappeared. I think they're honourable, strong.

I've only talked to John... I don't know any of the others. I-- [ He cuts himself off, frowning. The lockets are probably not the best way to talk about this and he finds himself missing the safety the compass had offered him. ] Thanks for that, anyway. I was wondering.

Well, I trust John with my life, with everything. He's my father and I really do love him. If that helps at all in making you feel better, then I'm glad.

It does, actually. A lot.

[ because he may be wary of john and well aware that hermione's probably very biased if he's her father, but dick trusts hermione and that's a big plus in john's favor. it also makes him better about his mission and why he was assigned it, despite having asked john once already. ]
