[And in due course, Harry can be found at their usual meeting spot. He looks well, if a bit tired, and there's a large crow perched nearby.]

[ Hermione arrives not long later, looking a little haggard and sad. She spots him and, without any hesitation, wraps her arms around him, burying her face in his chest. ]

Ron's gone.

[ He hugs her back, holding her close, and letting her say or do whatever she needs. ]

I'm so sorry. Are you sure that he's gone-gone?

[ What if he's kidnapped by dwarves or unicorns or ...? ]

[ All she can do is nod, holding herself against him with shaken hands. ]

His room's empty and I can't message him. I stopped by on my way over...

[ No, he's really gone. They're alone again. ]

[ As he holds her, he doesn't say anything much. Just quiet, soothing words meant to offer comfort for both of them. His voice is still torn up and his breath smells like something sweet and medicinal.

Nearby, a crow watches with interest. Humans. ]

[ Hermione has to give herself a few moments; she knows now isn't the time to mourn and she'll probably act much like she had travelling around England, burying her sorrows in her pillows and trying to put on a brave face for Harry, but right now she needs him and he's there. Eventually, she manages to lean back and grabs his hand, squeezing it gently. ]

Maybe we should go see my house?

[ She doesn't need to hide herself like that. Harry is here for her and he can be strong and share her burdens. ]

I'd love that. And you know that no matter where I am, I've always got time and space for you. No matter what you need or what or even just fancy.

[ The crow launches herself from her perch and comes to rest on Harry's shoulder. It really is a rather large, slightly odd bird. ]

[ She jumps back a little, her eyes widening. ]

I - um. Hello.

[ The bird clicks her beak and makes a sort of 'tok' noise. ]

We're still in negotiations for a suitable name.

[ She hesitates before she forces a smile onto her lips. ]

Come on. Can he apparate?

She can, yes.

[ They agreed on a gender and are still working on the rest. It's a drawn out negotiation. ]
