[He trails off, wondering just how safe it is to give Xion's name over the lockets like this. They can be monitored by the queen, right? Does he risk getting them both in trouble should she find out?

I don't think you know the last person, though. I met her in Leathann a couple months ago.

[ Terra and Aqua she knows, but the others are new names for her - and as far as safety goes... The lockets are the tools of the monarchs and Hermione knows they need to be careful.
It's obvious, at least to her, where the other person is. ]

She's connected to Sora in some way. I don't know how yet, but I know I can trust her.

But the network, though... that's a good question. One that Riku hadn't thought about.]
They can be part of the network with all the other compasses, they don't have to be separate. Does it have to be a compass though?
Aqua made us all Wayfinders. I wondered if those might work too.

[ Hermione has met Sora now, of course, but she tilts her head at the thought of Wayfingers. Pausing, she considers. ]
What do the Wayfinders look like? If they have a smooth surface that would work for a video feed then they should work fine - that's the only stipulation.

[It's strange, Hermione trusting him so readily. Riku knows that he's the hardest one on himself, but there's an odd feeling of... relief? Gladness?--that sweeps through him at her words. To answer her question he changes over to video, giving her a grateful smile before pulling out one of the Wayfinders that Aqua made. ]
I don't know about the front, but the back might work for video.

They're connected to their Gods and their Gods to them. When the Avatar dies the God dies too - that's what happened to King Ridire. The details about becoming an Avatar or being one... I don't know anything about that. It's sharing power, certainly, since that was one of Clarisse's gifts, but more than that... I'm sorry, I don't know.
