[ Lancelot's voice is soft and tired. ]

Faolan is safe, we managed to... Well, arrange things so he did not have to attend Lucky Penny.

[ The breath of relief that comes is obvious, and almost loud in the quiet of her room, and it takes her a moment to reply. ]

Are - is he alright? Are you alright?

[ He lets out a shaky breath. ]

Fine. A little shaken, but... fine. It seems it was a good decision in the end to try and avoid going, apparently the management of Lucky Penny remember Faolan even though we were sure he was not seen. They let us know this morning.

I'm sure they used a charming method of communication for you.

[ God, the poor men. Hasn't this world done enough to them now? ]

Is there anything I can do to help you both?

[ Yes, charming. Lancelot decides to spare her the details, if nothing else because he fears the method they (and Dorian) went about it may be something she disapproves of. He dispapproves of it himself, in truth, but he'd been desperate.

Lancelot sighs, winces to himself as he thinks. ]

We'll be fine. In truth I think we just need time to recover, to focus on things that don't involve battles and breaking into dangerous places and curses.

[ Well that rules out about 90% of the Drabwurld then. ]

Is there anything you or the Citadel need? I feel terribly out of touch, I've spend most of my time worrying about Faolan or teaching people to hold a sword.

[ Hermione probably would disapprove, but considering the actions that she's taken in the past and the damage it's done? She's not sure she has any right to anymore.

[ A good cup of tea or a sleeping potion; she can provide both. But, of course, there's always work to be done. ]

I was going to ask someone to go to the library and see if Gwyddien had any information or sources about shards and their magic... Do you fancy having a chat with him?

[ Shards. It's always shards, isn't it? Still, he likes Gwyddien -- he's spent a while in the library and learnt a lot there. The library is surely safe. ]

I can do that. So far as I know nothing in the library will try to kill me.

[ Awkward, slightly hollow laughter. ]

Besides which, I seem to be the resident expert on this now. I suppose it would do me good to spend a while longer researching these things from other perspectives.

[ There's no way to avoid it, given who they are. ]

I don't think so - I've got the only monster book... I think.

[ Yes, a book that's actually a monster. Anyway. ]

If there's anything you can find out I would appreciate it more than you could know. I don't know as much as you, but I'm trying.

[ A... monster book? Well, in all honesty Lancelot had not been aware such a thing existed -- he assumed that is what she means? Not a book on monsters? That would not be dangerous...

Regardless. The point is the same. He takes a breath and focuses. ]
