[ Asami nods, her expression growing a little serious. ]

I've got to admit, I had no idea that the shards could be so...powerful? I guess that's showing my ignorance a bit, but...

[ She pauses, before setting aside all but one of the scrolls of notes. ]

There's record of one battle in particular where Seelie forces were able to actually enter the thoughts and memories of their enemies-- [ Their, she says, as if it's not the same enemy she's supposed to face. She's a little undecided after reading this. ] --and manipulate them into surrendering.

... Memories?

[ Hermione breathes out, considering for a moment. She knows all about memory sharing - she does it with her Pensieve - but this is something completely different. ]

That's... That is incredible. I don't suppose there was information on how?

There's speculation, but most of what's available seems to be more accounts of people who have seen it rather than those who have done it. But...what I could find from various sources really describes these individuals as comparable to gods, like they have achieved some sort of ultimate mastery of their shards.

[ Which really makes her wonder if that's a status that anyone here has or is working towards. ]

[ Speechless for a moment, Hermione pauses, hesitating, before she breathes out. ]

Thank you, Asami. Do you think it would be alright if I had a copy of your notes?

[ She manages a soft smile and nods. ]

Of course. These are your copy. My handwriting gets a little sloppy when I get going, so I thought I'd rewrite them for you to go over when you've got time.

[ And they were in her native tongue, which she's just assuming Hermione doesn't read. ]

I can deliver them to you whenever you'd like.

[ Not yet, but maybe one day she can learn... ]

Any time you're free is fine! I'm at the Citadel more often than not and if I'm not there you can leave them with Galan.

[ Asami nods, setting the scrolls to the side. ]

I'll do that before I leave for the Road, again. Thank you for this opportunity. I've been meaning to try and learn more about this place and I never would have thought to look at Shardbearer battles specifically.

[ She pauses before - ah, yes. ]

[ Oh--rewards? Yes, she forgot that was part of the deal. ]

Okay, perfect! Do... [ She really should check on these things. ] Do you have a compass yet?

[ That's what she means, right? ]

Not that, um - [ She puts the locket up, letting it hover with a quick bit of magic before she draws her compass out and shows it. ] One of these - Korra and Mako have one. It's an communication device.

[ Her eyes widen at that. Another one, other than the lockets? ]

Oh--no. I'd had no idea. Are they that different than these lockets?

[ Which she tried to replicate but failed to do so. ]

They are - the compasses I make can contact anyone, no matter what Court they're in, use a network separate from the lockets themselves and they're private. Your reward is one of them, free of charge.

Oh.

[ Okay, that is pretty awesome. And extremely useful, if they can truly communicate between courts. Not that she has anyone to speak to on the unseelie side, but...she is curious. Very curious. ]
