[ Hermione's voice comes - as usual, it's a little tired, but she's excited all the same. ]

Gabranth, thank you so much! You have no idea how helpful that is. I'm free for visitors most of the time, so whenever you have a spare moment is fine with me.

[ Hearing the excitement in her voice does manage to lift his spirits, at least a little. So he makes for Hermione's office as soon as he's able, and knocks at her door. ]

[ In his hand is the small box he'd received from her attendant, with the containers and herbs carefully packed inside. ]

[ The guards let him in without question - he is a Marquis, after all - and Hermione stands when she sees him, her smile friendly. ]

Gabranth, hi. Please, sit down if you have the time? I can make us some tea?

If you wish.

[ He won't be so discourteous as to refuse, especially when he does have the time to spare, so he takes a seat. Even so, his instinct is to gravitate towards business before all else. ]

I believe I've gathered enough for your purposes... If not, I can seek out greater quantities on the morrow.

[ Hermione goes right ahead to prepare the tea, tapping the pot with her wand to heat it quickly and setting out the teacups. When he speaks again, she looks over. ]

Oh, no, that looks like more than enough, really. You have no idea how helpful this is.

Good.

[ He has enough restraint not to say it with a sigh of relief, no matter how much he might be feeling it. ]

My chocobo nearly ate the store of berries before I had noticed... What good fortune that she left enough for me to gather.

[ Hermione knows better, but she says nothing, just passes over the tea and nudges forward the honey, sugar and milk. ]

You have a Chocobo? A friend of mine told me about them but I didn't realise they were in this world.

Aye, a gift from the monarchs two autumns past. Her plumage is black, and her name is Nila.

[ If there's any evidence of his fondness for her in his tone, it's wholly unintentional. Part of him wonders which friend of hers would know of chocobos, beyond the small population in this world... But he doesn't need to know that now.

He takes the tea from her with an acknowledging nod, and stirs in a dash of milk before he speaks again. ]

Some time ago, you spoke to the network of enchanting items to serve as alternative means of communication. If your offer still stands, I would make such a request of you.

She sounds absolutely beautiful.

[ A giant black bird; that sounds incredible. All Hermione knows about Chocobo is what Zack had told her - that they were large, they were found in the wild and once you'd caught them or battled monsters or something they were very loyal and easy to ride.

It sounds a little strange, but what doesn't when it comes to the Drabwurld?

Making her own tea, Hermione adds a little honey before she settles back in her armchair, turning her head to look at Gabranth before she nods. ]

Of course it does. Did you have something particular in mind for me to enchant?

[ He sets his tea aside for the moment, reaches into his pocket, and draws out the mirror he'd purchased at Caer Glaem, still encased in its ornamental wood. ]

The surface should be clear enough for communication, I believe. [ As he speaks, he offers it up to Hermione with a careful hand. ] Will this be suitable?

[ Hermione reaches out, carefully, and takes the mirror, turning it this way and that before she nods her head. ]

This should work perfectly. I've done it with mirrors before and this is plenty big enough.
