I haven't the faintest, frankly. I've never opened a place before-- I have help, a few Natives from Treun who need the money and know the business, but I have no idea. Perhaps just yourself and whatever you'd like? We have food and ale here, at least.

I can't wait. I can bring myself and set you up with a bit of magical protection, if you'd like? I know some native runes and wards and the spells from my own world as well. If you think that it might be worth doing then I'll be at your service.

Oh, Hermione, that would be perfect. I was hoping to use this place to help the council, to gather what information I could from sources. I'd love it if you could do that.

Then I will. It's no trouble at all and I can teach you a few of the runes if you'd like?

Sounds like how things were back at home for me. We had so much coin-- Besides spending it on everything necessary and then some, I felt like I couldn't get rid of it fast enough.

It's almost too much. I'm glad it's going to be Christmas soon so I can make sure everyone gets some presents.

Busy is something I'd guess. It's good you're having fun, though. What's the best part about it?

Oh! It's a winter holiday that's to celebrate the birth of a religious figure in my world. A lot of people use it as an reason to give people gifts, though, and it's a little like Yule? Think of it as a time of celebration, love and family.

[ She hums, thinking, thoughtful. ]

Having the power to help and protect people.

Yule is...a Drabwurld celebration, yes?

[ Now she'll need to think up gifts for people. ]

That is a very large perk of the job, isn't it?

[ As First and eventual Keeper, she knew she would have the power to help others and to protect her clan but as Inquisitor, that power increased by leaps and bounds. Despite all that it pushed onto her shoulders, it was still a blessing in some ways. ]

Even with all of the responsibility that comes with it.

It is. Not everyone adheres to it, of course, and other cultures have different celebrations, but I like Christmas. It means I get to give my friends presents.

[ Which is something she certainly enjoys. ]

One of the few that I actually take advantage of.

I'm used to responsibility, thankfully.

It's in December! The day itself is the twenty-fifth, but people give and receive presents around that time, generally to be opened on the day. We wrap them in pretty paper and put them under a tree that we decorate.

[ Ah, but -- now she sounds shyly embarrassed. ]
